What if I'm already doing a diet plan, but want to add an exercise program?
I want to shape up, but I have back/joint problems. Which program is best for me?
Do you work with children?
If you're on a nutrition plan that is working for you, then by all means continue. But please let us know the details of your dietary habits. We will still help you develop a nutrition plan, but you are not obligated to use it and your exercise plan will have your diet in mind. Back to top
Generally, we recommend you start with 1-on-1 sessions. From there, your trainer can give you a good idea if Small-Group training is right for you.
Whether your little one is training for athletics, has health concerns, is overweight or just needs a positive distraction, we'd be glad to help. However, many gyms will not allow youngsters near the weights, even with a guardian. Contact us, and we'll find the best option for everyone.

Can we workout at my gym?
Unfortunately most private gyms don't allow outside personal training services at all, even if your trainer has a membership. Ask your gym if you can bring in your trainer.
I'm worried a personal trainer will work me too hard.
A good trainer will always start slow and gradually build you up. Most the people that hire a trainer are out of shape. Lose Inches LLC is not a bootcamp, but we will ask you to challenge yourself and step outside your regular "comfort zone". Your trainer won't make you exercise until you pass out, but he will want you to push yourself in a safe way. If this is an issue you're concerned about, we can discuss it in detail before ever exercising.
What if I want to lose weight extremely fast?
At Lose Inches LLC, we encourage regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and healthy habits for steady, maintainable weight loss. However, if you have a wedding or other event and want to lose weight rapidly, we can still help. But losing much more than 2-3 lbs a week may require manipulative tactics that are usually not encouraged, or healthy, especially for the long term. Just know that losing weight too quickly is usually unhealthy and the results are usually temporary.
How fast will I lose weight if that is my goal?
Everyones results will differ. However, it's realistic for people that are eating healthy and beginning to exercise to lose between 3-8 pounds a month. More important than the scale is your body fat %, how your clothes fit, energy level and general health improvement.

What's the best exercise to tone up my Arms?
You lose fat from your midsection with sound nutrition and regular, challenging, full body exercises. Not with crazy amounts of core work. Anyone who says they have "The Easy Answer" is likely trying to sell you something. Focus your efforts on working hard, doing cardio often and eating healthy foods in moderate portions.
Remember that proper diet and full body exercise is much more effective at slimming your stomach than doing a million ab exercises. But to answer the question, San Diego State University compared 13 common ab exercises and determined that the bicycle maneuver was most efficient in stimulating abdominal muscles. Second place went to the Captain Chair and third was crunches on the stability ball.
Again, start with nutrition and full body exercises. But if you really want to build a little more firmness in the arms, try pulling and pushing motions back to back until you just can't go anymore. So for example, try alternating standing arm curls with push ups. The bottom line is that you challenge your arm's muscles as hard (yet safely) as possible.
There are many modes (biking, jump rope, walking etc) of cardio that are effective. I generally recommend walking (or jogging if you can do it safely). But whatever mode you choose, it's critical that you are challenging your heart, lungs and muscles and that you do it for more than 15 minutes at a time. If you can carry on a conversation with ease, then you are likely not challenging yourself in a way to maximize fat loss.
What exercises don't work?
What's the best diet book on the market?
There are many great diet and fitness books on the market. However any fitness plan that avoids an entire food group for very long or requires the use of odd gimmicks may not be healthy for the long run. Use your good judgement. Some popular authors I recommend include Bill Phillips, Bob Greene, Harley Pasternak and Tosca Reno just to get you started.
Most exercises will work well for their certain purpose. However, if you're goal is to exercise efficiently and lose fat, some exercises just aren't very beneficial. For example, concentrating on exercising the small muscles covering your shin bone may be great for people with ankle problems. But time could be better spent for most people by exercising a larger group of muscles. As a general rule for reshaping your body, try to limit the amount of time you spend on exercises that work only very small muscles.
No. However, one of the common reasons Americans are overweight and unhealthy is the over consumption of highly processed carbs. So while it's not advisablee to cut carbs completely it's recommended to use much more moderate portions and more consideration over the type of carbs you're choosing. Take this example: An apple and a soda are both carbs. They may even be close in calories. But one has vitamins and minerals while the other may eat a hole through your kitchen floor if you drop it.
How often should I exercise?
That entirely depends on your goal and situation. If you just want to maintain a healthy heart and you're in the average fitness range, a good minimum is 3 days a week, 15 minutes each outing. However, for weight loss it's recommended to do more. More days a week, more minutes each session and more intensity in each step. It's not often someone exercises too much.
